WE NEED YOUR HELP! CBF GENERAL ASSEMBLY WILL BE HELD IN WASHINGTON, D.C. JUNE 28-29 Virginia Baptists are being asked to volunteer Please review the list of many ways YOU can help, ___________________________________________________________________________________ RESPONSIBILITIES FOR THE LOCAL ARRANGEMENTS COMMITTEE FOR THE CBF GENERAL ASSEMBLY, JUNE 28 and 29, 2007 Print Volunteer Contact Form REGISTRATION TEAM Register those who attend the General Assembly from Wednesday afternoon, June 27 through Friday afternoon, June 29. – Team members should possess a polite temperament under pressure and work quickly with few errors. INFORMATION/HOSPITALITY TEAM Welcome people and serve as hosts at the doors of the Washington Convention Center , Grand Hyatt Hotel and Renaissance Hotel on Wednesday, June 27 and Thursday, June 28. – Help program personnel before each General Session and provide assistance in locating workshops, auxiliary events and meeting rooms. FACILITIES TEAM Assist CBF staff with setup of Resource Fair on Wednesday, June 27, 2007 at the Convention Center prior to General Assembly and with disassembling on Saturday morning, June 30. Some heavy lifting may be required. -- Check meeting room setups prior to workshops and auxiliary events and serve as runners for Information/Hospitality and Registration Teams. USHERS TEAMServe as ushers for two (2) General Sessions and two (2) Business Sessions. -- Responsible for collecting offerings, distributing printed materials at the General Sessions and working with Convention Center personnel to help if emergencies arise. WORKSHOP HOST TEAM Assist workshop conveners with the distribution of materials, workshop evaluation and audience control and seating on Thursday, June 28 and Friday, June 29. COMMUNION TEAM Assist with the planning and coordination of the Communion Service on Friday evening, June 29, during the combined gathering of the CBF and the ABC (could be 8,000 to 10,000 people). LOCAL TRANSPORTATION/SHUTTLE SERVICE Provide and coordinate limited shuttle service between the Convention Center and the Grand Hyatt and the Renaissance at strategic times in the program on Thursday and Friday for senior adults and others whose mobility might be challenged. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Review and indicate in which area you would be most interested and willing to volunteer.
