Baptist Church Story
UN Millennium
Development Goals |
The
Cooperative Baptist Fellowship of Virginia has joined the global campaign
known as The Millennium Development Goals (MDGs), which are a commitment
to eradicate poverty in our world.
Contributing to The Millennium Development Goals is
a practical and focused way in which we as individuals, a congregation,
and a fellowship can join in the great work of eradicating poverty within
our lifetime.
In this campaign, we join with many other people of
good will and of different faith traditions to accomplish this grand
goal. As Christians, we pursue these good works not just for the sake
of doing good, but in obedience to the call of our Savior. Our Lord
is clear that when we, His followers, ser the needy, the poor, the broken-hearted
and the oppressed, we are serving Jesus himself and through our actions
proclaim him as Lord.
We call upon each congregation and each Baptist to
become familiar with and to seek specific avenues of participating in
the MDGs.
(Note: Please do not send contributions to CBFV. Send
your contributions directly to the organizations or projects you have
selected.)
Share your story of participation with us.
