Passport launches  online Advent devotional with CBF partners

ATLANTA – Following the Star, an online Advent devotional series produced by Passport in partnership with Cooperative Baptist Fellowship and AlabamaCBF, launched Nov. 27, the first Sunday of Advent.

For the past five years, thousands of people have come together for Following the Star and Journey to the Cross – online devotional sites that seek to provide a place of reflection during the Advent and Lenten seasons, said Melissa Browning, Passport's online devotion editor. As Passport produces the fifth year of Following the Star, organizers also announce the arrival of a new year-long devotional site, www.d365.org . After Following the Star, devotions will continue daily at d365.

Music for this year's site is provided by Rodrigo Rodriguez and Joseph Martin. Writers come from a wide variety of backgrounds. This Advent season, Following the Star will focus on themes of expectation and longing as the coming of Christ is anticipated.

All devotions are written with students in mind, but readers write in to say they speak to people in all walks of life, Browning emphasized. Last year, Following the Star had 53,600 visitors from 81 countries representing more than 30 denominations.
